Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae has announced an expansion of funding for public transportation in North Perth.

As part of the funding from the Ontario government, the municipality will see $80,090 from the initiative.

This comes from a total of $871,000 across Perth-Wellington with Stratford seeing the bulk of it at $484,341.

Rae in a release says this is crucial for the area as many people rely on public transportation in rural communities.

The funding is part of Ontario’s gas tax program which allocates nearly $380 million for 107 municipalities to help improve and operate public transit.
