Grey-Bruce Public Health has issued an overdose alert in the area after three reported drug overdoses or poisonings were reported in the past 48 hours.

Public health says of the reports, one on Friday resulted in the death of Grey-Bruce resident in their mid 40’s.

It’s suspected the victim was using yellow and purple fentanyl as well as methamphetamine.

The other two overdoses which were not fatal had Naloxone used to temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

The health unit suspects yellow and purple fentanyl was consumed in one of the overdoses while the drug in the other is not known.

Overdose is a medical emergency. Call 911 or go to the Emergency Department.

The Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act provides protection from simple possession charges when 911 is called for an overdose.
