Ontario’s integrity commissioner will be investigating a complaint against Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Steve Clark in regards to opening up the protected Greenbelt for housing development.
Clark announced in November the government intended to remove land from 15 different areas of the greenbelt but also would add acres elsewhere to make way for 50,000 homes to be built.
Incoming NDP leader Marit Stiles asked the commissioner to look into what she calls the timing of recent purchases of the land by landowners with donor and political ties with the Ontario PC party.
