Your Dean Ribey Team of the Week are the Wingham U-15 Reps
Wingham Minor Hockey has been hot across all of its divisions as they continue to shine and make their presence known in Silver Stick.
Kincardine was the home recently for the Silver Stick U-15 Regional Qualifier which wrapped up near the end of the year.
The U-15 Rep team jumped in with a 1-1 tie against Blyth-Brussels, a 4-1 win over South Grey in game 2 but dropped game 3 to Shallow Lake 2-1.
To the quarterfinals, Wingham downed Walkerton 4-0 and jumped past Six Nations 6-1 in the semi finals who then would earn the shot at revenge in the finals against Shallow Lake.
It was a close matchup but Wingham came out on top in the finals going 1-0 to be champions. It was a strong effort all around, including Connor Moran who picked up the shutout in the finals.
It’s far from over for the team, who will look to continue to grow across minor hockey tournaments to closely follow.
