Mitchell District High School shared word of some special guests that visited their school yesterday as guest speakers.
Veteran Art Boon & his son Rick spoke about WWII with students in the history and law classes at the school.
Students were able to hear about Art’s experiences in WWII and learn more about Canada’s contribution to the war effort.
Art was part of the D-Day landing in Normandy on June 6, 1944 and served in the Canadian Militia from 1956 to 1980.
He has been a member of the Legion for 56 years and has held many positions including Executive Member, Service Officer, Poppy Chairman, Parade Chairman and Marshall.
