66 charities and not for profit groups across the country have each received a grant of $2500 to improve lives across their own local communities with the support from Canadian farmers.
Among some local names as recipients includes the Perth 4-H Association, Optimist Club of Mornington as well as the St Patricks Kinkora Playground Project.
Canada’s Farmers Grow Communities (CFGC) program as supported by Bayer Crop Science Canada wrapped up their draw and awarded the charities and non profits with total of $165,000 in funding for community projects
First introduced in 2012, the CFGC program saw over 700 farmer applications this year and charity suggestions similar in volume to previous years.
Farmers living and working in the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia had from mid-January to September 30th to submit entries.
