Four West Perth Men receive Bravery Medals from Governor General

Four West Perth residents received their Medals of Bravery last month following an act of courage back on February 22nd, 2016.

Andrew Daube, Daryl Eckert, Tim Harrison and Trevor Vanderhyden rescued two people suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a defective boiler in Mitchell.

Eckert arrived first on the scene who found one victim semi-conscious.

Mr. Harrison arrived and helped him carry the man out of the building.

Following a radio call on the situation, the other two arrived to a gas-filled building a ran up to the second level where they found the other victim.

They strapped him to a wheeled office chair and rolled him to the top of the stairs where he was carried to safety.
