The Township of Perth East advised residents that watermain flushing is set to start tomorrow, Wednesday, October 12th and continue every Wednesday between 8 and 5 until November 2nd.
If your water becomes cloudy or discoloured during this time, they advise to let your cold water tap nearest the water meter run until the water runs clear.
Watermain flushing is the process of cleaning or scouring the interior of water distribution mains by moving water at high rates.
The water is discharged at fire hydrants or blow off valves.
It improves water quality by removing mineral deposits and sediment that build up naturally over time.
