The St Marys Fire department has a new volunteer chaplain. Pastoral chaplain Jeff F Sager will assume the role who started at the beginning of September.
Sager’s role will include performing religious services, conducting training and providing confidential counseling to firefighters.
In the past, Sager has been a commander and acting deputy chief of Perth County Paramedic Services which was done for more than 40 years.
Sager comes in with much training with peer support, mental health awareness and debriefing teams.
