Mapleton township is reminding residents as they start to drain out their pools that they ensure they are following the drain bylaws.
The bylaw regulates the draining of private swimming pools, ponds, ice rinks and sump pumps.
When draining out a swimming pool, residents are asked to make sure they are not causing any flooding to an adjoining property.
All drainage should be directed towards your side or rear yard.
