Wellington County announced it received the news yesterday that Standard & Poor’s Global Credit Rating Agency announced the County’s credit rating has been affirmed at AAA.
The rating is the highest possible any municipality can achieve.
Municipalities that borrow under the AAA rating have access to the best possible capital funding rates & minimize long-term financial costs.
Areas highlighted in the announcement include a strong local economy supporting healthy budgetary results, reliance on the debt remains in line with expectations of close to 30% of consolidated operating revenues and a stable outlook.
