The news was announced at the Boots & Hearts Festival at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds just north of Barrie that Mildway’s own Owen Riegling had been named the Emerging Artist Showcase winner.
The talent search highlighted the best in Canadian country talent and offered a platform for new artists to be discovered in front of country music’s largest audience.
Owen in winning the top prize is awarded a single release by Universal Music Canada, award winning song-writing sessions, a trip to Nashville and more.
He is set to appear Saturday, August 13th as part of a free concert at the Hanover Raceway. It is set to begin at 6:30 pm.
