Council voted to approve a zoning amendment for both chains.
A plaza next to Canadian Tire will be built for both locations.
The land at 300 Mitchell Road South had been proposed to have the restaurants built and the lot be partial rezoned by its owner, No Quarter Holdings.
A zoning bylaw change was also requesting which will allow for drive thrus.
Consulting planner Gillian Smith says an overflow of traffic in the drive thru would see traffic on site and not impacting any existing roadways.
