The County of Wellington shared photos this afternoon of their Engineering Services department leading County staff on a roadside clean-up.
The activity was part of the Adopt-a-Road program that sees many groups and organizations in the community make a two-year commitment (renewed annually thereafter) to ensure the community stays beautiful for all to enjoy.
The gesture is signified with a road sign that is posted at each end of the adopted section of the road.
Supplied as part of the program is a safety guideiness booklet for volunteers, safety vests for all volunteers, garbage bags, flags and traffic cones, someone to pickup hazardous materials and someone to pickup filled trash bags at a designated site.
