Officials with the Upper Grand District School Board are still looking into the changes made in the grade 9 math courses offered to students, but say the current data is still too early to tell as its only been a single semester.
At the start of the year, the Ministry of Education made changes to grade 9 math, only offering two a de-streamed course or locally developed to replace the previous 3, academic, applied and locally developed.
1229 students across the school board are enrolled in the de-streamed math course which has seen a 94.1 per cent pass rate.
Director of Education, Peter Sovran says its still too early to find out the impact for students, saying the board will also look at results in the 2nd semester.
