The Township of Huron-Kinloss are getting provincial funding to help them reopen the Point Clark Lighthouse.

$117,100 is coming from the Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund grant.

The funding will be used to transform the experience at the Lighthouse museum.

In a release, the Township says the upgrades should be ready for the 2023 season.

The museum has been closed since the pandemic began in 2020.

The Township says it allowed staff to review and research ways to improve the quality of the exhibits. A fundraising campaign is underway for the revitalization of the lighthouse.
