The Technical Training Group is kicking off three programs for its Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Multiple Trades Exposure Program.
The program is completely tuition free as they are ministry funded which on top of tuition costs include certain gear for the program such as safety boots, welding helmets and gear bags.
TTG Office and Pre-Apprenticeship Program Administrator, Liz Balleto says the results of the program in the past has been very beneficial to those who take part and local employers.
“It’s great for local employers because they know they have people coming in who have those foundational skills needed to start work right away as welders or entry level machinists. We see employers who are taking people on and moving them into millwrighting positions.” said Balleto.
Balleto adds the programs are great for those looking to get into the trades.
“The goal is to get people situated with local employers, integrate employment opportunities with long term potential and get found as an apprentice and continue on that path with your career.”
Clinton will kick off the program at the start of May with applications due April 29th.
Stratfords program starts July 5th with another in Listowel on September 13th.
