On April 2nd at around 9:30pm, Wellington County OPP were joined alongside Guelph-Wellington Paramedics to a medical assist call at a residence on Waterloo Street in Mount Forest.
Initial reports showed a person had fallen down a flight of stairs and was in need of medical attention.
It was later discovered the injuries were a result of an assault and not a fall. During an arrest, one officer was assaulted.
As a result of investigation a 30 year old of Guelph has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assaulting a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest.
The accused will appear in Guelph court at a later date.
