Howick Township Receives Grant for Walking Trails

Grant to be used towards walking trails in tri-villages

Howick has received a grant for walking trails within the tri-villages.

Operations Manager Brady Nolan says the Grant Match was successful as they received an undisclosed amount for the installation of walking trails in Gorrie, Fordwich and Wroxeter.

A report given previously showed the Gorrie trail starting at the conservation site running east along the river and is estimated to be estimated to be 1.5 kilometers long with a total cost of $199,000.

The Fordwich trail in Gough Road heading south for a length of 2.14 kilometers costing $158,000 and Wroxeter being off of Walter Street and Highway 87 at just under 1 kilometer in length and costing $75,000.
