West Perth Mayor Walter McKenzie wrote an open letter to the municipality after the 8 day search for a missing girl in Whirl Creek in Mitchell ended with the child found deceased.
McKenzie writing an expression of deep sympathy for the family of Taleya Paris, highlighting the overwhelming level of support and kindness from the community from the sight of stuffed animals and ribbons placed around the area.
McKenzie adding the gratitude from neighbouring communities for the assistance from first responders saying “when your neighbour needs help, there are no questions asked, you roll up your sleeves and get to work.”
The letter ends with McKenzie saying Taleya will never be forgotten.
