Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) is still looking ahead to have many residents across Perth County connected but say more is needed to ensure a fast connection across rural areas.

The municipally led non for profit broadband project is working to have 400 homes in the county connected to high speed internet by the summer.

Service providers across the region, including Mornington, Tuckersmith and Wightman have started their part of having fibre-based broadband in parts in North Perth, West Perth and Perth East to be finished over the next few months.

Wightman is expected to have a $274,000 project to connect 91 homes within The Village in Listowel before April.
