The Province announced this afternoon at a Press Conference tightening health restrictions and expanded vaccine eligibility all in efforts to battle the growing threat of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.

Ontario is expanding eligibility of the 3rd Booster Dose of Covid-19 vaccine to every resident of the Province 18 years and older. They are also lessening the wait to 3 months after your second dose as opposed to the 6 month delay previously.

The changes come into effect December 20th.

Pharmacies will be able to start administering booster doses on a walk-in basis as of December 17th, 3 days before the full rollout.

Capacity limits at indoor venues with more than 1,000 seats will also see tightening restrictions. The capacity at such places will be cut to 50% of full capacity as of December 18th.

Ontario is aiming to have the ability to administer 200,000 to 300,00 doses per day as of next week.

This will be done through such things as partnerships with large corporations who can implement workplace and community clinics to support doses for employees, their families and the local community.
