Province Invests in Waterloo Region Businesses to Boost Economy

Investments will see $2.2 million put into 4 Businesses Through Regional Development Program

The Provincial Government is supporting an investment of $20.5 million dollars by Kitchener-Waterloo area manufacturers  to strengthen domestic manufacturing and agri-food production by investing  $2.2 million in 4 businesses as part of the Regional Development Program.

The funding is aimed to create 85 jobs in the Region as well as retain an additional 233.

The businesses seeing the benefit include Huron Digital Pathology which is seeing a half million dollars added to the company’s $4.7 million dollars to expand production of their digital pathology scanner.

Blendtek Ingredients is seeing $940,000 from the Province added to their $6.2 million dollars to expand and upgrade it’s ingredient solutions and product development facility.

RTS Companies is seeing $500,000 added by the Province to it’s $5 million dollar investment to construct a new 15,000 square foot facility for the production of disinfectant wipes.

And Delta Elevator Company is seeing $227,000 added to the company’s $4.5 million dollar investment to expand and modify operations at a new facility.
