Provincial Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner was in Listowel this morning to tour a local green product manufacturer Purus Ecoraster Plastics North America on Tremaine Avenue South.
COO of the company Mike Coates explains why their permeable pavement product is good not only for the environment and as an option for paving but also good for recycling.
“In one of our products we have about 100 grocery bags or consumer bags, sandwich bags, ziplock bags things like that.” said Coates
Schreiner says this product is innovative to fight climate change.
“It’s a great opportunity to take plastic, recycle it and put it into a product like this that then helps mitigate and adapt to climate change as well.”
Schriener also had visits to 3Gen Organics in Wallenstein and Zero Waste Bulk in Waterloo to tour green businesses in the area.
