The Ontario Government has eased the regulations as they relate to the Province’s Pit Bull Ban that’s been on the books since 2005.
The law had previously allowed breeds that resembled banned breeds to be seized by animal control services on suspicious of being pit bulls.
The recent changes mean those animals can be returned to their owners while a breed designation is conducted.
The banned dogs considered put bulls include pit bull terriers, Staffordshire bull terriers, American Staffordshire terries and American put bull terriers.
