Ontario Throne Speech Focusing on Road to Recovery

Speech included recovery will be fueled by growth and not cuts or tax hikes

Avoiding future lockdowns, that’s what Ontario’s ultimate goal is which was laid out in Monday’s throne speech.

Lt. Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell delivered Premier Doug Ford’s throne speech to mark the start of the a new legislative session.

Due to the pandemic to provide support to businesses, Ontario’s deficit is projected at around $32.4 billion for 2021-22.

Part of the throne speech said the road to recovery will be fueled by growth, not by spending cuts or increasing taxes.

Opposition say the speech delivered was nothing new and ignores any support for patients, students, workers or small businesses.
