North Perth council reviewed the bylaw updates regarding off-road vehicles (ORV) on municipal roads during Mondays council meeting.
The big discussion under review came down to timing for use of ORV’s and revolving around hunting and how to properly enforce the bylaw around it.
When asked about how to determine who’s hunting, Councilor Matt Duncan says officers are properly trained to understand the act.
“All of our police officers are trained to be MNR enforcement officers now so they actually do have the fishing and wildlife conservation act with them and they can enforce those regulations as well.” said Duncan.
Council discussed more changes regarding permitted times, hunting and farming use of ORV eventually agreeing it must be revisited before going forward.
Council will return to the discussion next week before going ahead with a pass to proceed forward with a first, second and third reading.
