Elections Canada is in need of poll workers across the area.

As many poll stations which would normally be seen during an election, this time around is not possible which has caused some issues with locations and finding workers. Anyone who’s 16 or older and is a Canadian citizen can become a poll worker.

Rejean Greniar, Regional Media Advisor for Elections Canada in Ontario says the experience youth can get working has many benefits.

“They also learn about the electoral process from the inside and they make good money. You work one day at a polling station and you can easily walk away with two to three hundred dollars.” said Greniar.

Those looking to become a poll worker can visit the Elections Canada website and find the jobs tab which will allow you to apply.

Residents can also get in touch with the Perth-Wellington office 1-866-583-5154.
