Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington is using their September Document Shredding Fundraising Events to raise awareness of identity theft.
They want to advise residents when you shred your personal and confidential information such as banking info, social insurance and other key government information is destroyed.
They say this type of information can result in the loss of your identity. Crime Stoppers says this has become the crime of the 21st century.
You can use such things as their shredding event on September 11th from 9 until 1 at Skyjack at 201 Woodland Road West in Guelph and 381 Main St N at the Fire Services Parking Lot in Mount Forest as a way to protect your information and have documents professionally destroyed.
all proceeds of the $5 per bankers box donated to Guelph Wellington Crime Stoppers.
