Wellington North council is currently considering whether or not to pass a zoning bylaw amendment which would pave the way for a new two storey apartment building in Mount Forest.
Councilors need to decide to rezone the land from a medium density residential to high density residential to allow for the construction of the proposed 32 unit building.
The building would consist of 14 one bedroom units, 18 two bedroom units and 48 parking spaces. The space would be located at 773 Princess Street in Mount Forest.
Objections to the building have been seen from residents who argue concerns of traffic, safety and privacy.
Council will revisit the discussion at a future meeting.
