North Perth is one step closer to allowing off road vehicles (ORV) on municipal roads.

Council approved a motion to bring forward a draft of a bylaw in the near future which could allow the use of ORV on roads.

During their Monday night meeting, councilors reviewed the nearly 300 responses provided from a survery on the matter from Your Say North Perth. The responses almost all liked the idea of allowing ORV on municipal owned roads.

While the bylaw isn’t adopted yet and still needs more time to be finalized, councilor Terry Seiler says the rules and regulations should be similar to the municipalities neighbours such as Minto.

“I feel we need to try to keep our regulations the same as our neighbouring communities so everybody’s is the same and everyone is on the same page.’ said Seiler

Council approved the motion in a flawless 10-0 vote. A bylaw will be discussed at a future meeting.
