The County along with Goderich, Huron East and North Huron recently received funding through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program to install electric vehicle chargers in Huron County.

The various municipalities are partnering with Spark Park and Charge Crew to have the work done as well as applying for a second round of funding to focus on chargers at workplaces.

Huron County is set to receive 14 level 2 chargers with 26 ports distributed across the Region.

The locations include municipal parking lots, communities centres and libraries. Installation is expected to begin later this summer or fall.

The County is also set to partner with Wellington County to do a feasibility study on regional charging stations to bridge the gap between Highway 401 and Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
