Starting July 5th, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will no longer need to quarantine in a hotel so long as they are fully vaccinated when returning to Canada.
Proof will be required on entry by either keeping a paper or digital copy of their vaccine record as well as uploading other COVID-19 related information on the ArriveCAN application or website.
Fully vaccinated individuals will still need COVID-19 tests before they leave the country and as they return.
The new rules will not apply to everyone such as tourists or non-essential travel still will not be permitted to enter the country. Closure to non-essential travel has been extended until July 21st
Those who submit false information on their vaccine status can face fines up $750,000 and/or face 6 months of imprisonment.
