Canada Day in Atwood shaping up to be a day full of different events to enjoy.

From the craft floats to enjoying a pork chop dinner courtesy of the Atwood Lions, another event is returning this year with a few extra attachments.

Atwood Rocks is again dropping off painted rocks for everyone to decorate and bring them back to win prizes.

On top of the regular draw, a giant stone will be weighed in which residents can guess the weight on for a chance to win a grand prize of local goods. Greg Skinner says it’s all the same to get involved as last year.

“There’s nothing you need to do other than guess the weight of the rock, decorate your rock, bring it back like last year, put it in the trough and we’ll record your submissions.” said Skinner.

A colouring contest is also associated with the rock in which a name will be given and revealed before the weigh in. All information can be found from the Atwood Rocks Facebook page.
