London media says Amazon eyeing former Talbotville plant for hub

Online retailer thought to be eyeing former auto site for a sorting & distribution site

Media reports out of London have Amazon considering opening a massive sorting and distribution location to the former Ford Assembly site for the Crown Victoria in Talbotville near St. Thomas.

They already have plans for 2 warehouses in London with the space already leased and plans to employ 100 in the area.

Sources have the builder of past Warehouses for Amazon are eyeing the site at High 4 and 401 for the future use.

The Ford Plant in Talbotville has been closed for 10 years after being the site of local assembly for the Auto Maker for 44 years. In it’s hay day it employed 1100 workers. It is 254 acres with the Ford facility torn down in 2015.

The site was last listed for sale for $22.75 million dollars.
