Paramedic Service Week Shines Light on Above and Beyond Work

Huron County paramedics respond to 10,000 calls per year

 

Paramedic Service Week runs throughout May 23rd-29th this week.

Over the last year paramedics have gone above and beyond their regular role in response to the pandemic, says Huron County Warden, Glen McNeil. Huron County paramedics, like many others have been apart of COVID-19 assessment centres, traveling to vaccine clinics and responding the nursing home outbreaks across the province.

Huron County paramedics answers around 10,000 calls a year from medical, fires to farm and highway accidents.

Huron County employees 88 paramedics, 7 supervisors and 7 management and administration as part of the county’s emergency preparedness team.
