With the long weekend just around the corner, Huron-Perth Public Health is asking residents to stay safe and avoid attending any large gatherings.

With the stay-at-home order set to expire in just under 2 weeks, Dr. Miriam Klassen says residents just need to hold out a little longer and hold back on gatherings.

“Indoor and outdoor gatherings are not permitted except for members of the same household or one other person from outside the household who lives alone.’ said Dr. Klassen

Dr. Klassen adds public health understands the struggle of not being able to visit others, but in person visits are just nearly in arms reach.

“We recognize the most challenging part for people from this pandemic has been the inability to visit friends and family in person. We feel that way too. We’re getting closer to a point where in person visits will be possible but we just aren’t there yet.”

The new Ontario reopening plan is expected to be announced at 3pm Thursday
