Driver charged with stunt driving in Mapleton

Driver as locked on radar going 155 km/h in an 80 zone

 

On May 12th at approximately 2:30am a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 north of Wellington road 17.

The officer observed a passenger vehicle travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 155 km/h.

As a result a 30 year old male of Grand Valley has been charged with stunt driving excessive speed.

The defendant is scheduled ot appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 28th to answer to the charge.

Their vehicle and drivers license was seized for a period of 7 days.
