Two Youth Arrested in B&E with Firearm in Stratford

2 Youth charged with a series of charges after owner reports incident

 

This past Wednesday the owner of a residence on Youngs Street in Stratford, found that his backyard and shed bad been entered into sometime through the overnight.

The Stratford Police were contacted and an officer attended to review video surveillance that was available. It was observed that two individuals, who were later identified as Youths, under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, had entered the backyard shortly before 10:30pm this past Tuesday.

On the video one of the youths was observed in possession of a handgun. The two youths were then observed leaving the backyard several minutes later. At this time it is believed that no items were stolen.

Police were able to identify the two youths and both were located and arrested in the late afternoon of Wednesday. The suspected handgun was located during the arrest and found to be a bb gun replica handgun, which was seized and held as evidence.

The two involved youth have been charged jointly with dangerous weapons, trespass by night, break and enter with intent, use of imitation firearm while committing an offence, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

Both individuals were held in custody to attend a bail hearing.
