The province is expanding eligibility for programs for low income seniors for dental care and prescription drugs.
In 2019, the province launched the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program to help provide free routine dental care for low income seniors in the province.
The Seniors Co-Payment Program also launched which allows seniors to better afford medication.
Starting August 1st, eligibility for both programs will be updated as the cost of living increases. The programs will support single Ontarians aged 65 and up with an income of $19,300-$22,200 and couples combined of $32,300-$37,100
MPP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, Bill Walker says this is great news for seniors in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. Adding the eligibility for the new programs will ensure more low income seniors will have access to free routine dental care and affordable prescriptions.
New measures will allow 7000 more seniors to access the dental plan and around 17,000 be able to have access to the co-payment program for medication.
