Racing Charge laid for Stratford Driver near Walton

Driver was caught by radar going 140 in a 90 zone

 

A Stratford resident is facing a court date following a racing charge laid by the OPP.

Yesterday at approximately 6:37pm a member with the West Region Highway Safety Division was patrolling North Line east of Walton when the officer observed a SUV travelling at a high rate of speed above the posted 90 km/h zone limit.

A radar device was utilized to measure the speed and it measured the vehicle’s speed in excess of 140 km/h.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was subsequently charged.

A 64 year old male from Stratford has been charged with stunt driving excessive speed. He now has a court date schedule for July 6th at a Goderich court to answer to the charge.

His vehicle was impounded and his license automatically suspended for 7 days.
