Income and Housing Price Not Aligned in Centre Wellington

Some don't have the income to buy or rent

 

A report from the University of Guelph on attainable housing shows the income of residents and the housing price are not aligned in Centre Wellington and the stock of rental units needs to increase.

The report says there is a portion of the employment market which does not have the income to buy or even rent a home in the area.

The report also says attainable housing would be a home which costs up to 30 percent of a households gross incoming, which ranges from 80-120 percent of the local income.

The median income in Centre Wellington is between $76,000 and $114,000 which would mean attainable housing would range between $430,000-$650,000
