West Perth council is offering financial help for the Mitchells Lion Club in repairing the playground in Lions Park.
The park first installed in 2006 has had some concerns with safety and in need of repairs.
Recreation & Facilities Manager Darcey Cook saying to council the engineered wood fibers are almost non-existent and roots have grown in the play space making trip hazards and safety issues.
The Mitchell Lions club has committed funding for the year to maintenance and repairs to the playground structure and pavilion.
Cook says the municipality has more than $150,000 in reserves for the purchase of new equipment and repairs for the playground.
