Local Fire departments to receive $62,000 from Province

Funding will be used to enhance in-person and online education by adding additional training

 

Today Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece announced the Ontario Government is investing $62,000 into local fire services.

The investment is intended to address the impact of Covid-19 and ensure compliance with the Ontario Fire Code.

Specifically the funds will go towards improving fire training and supporting safety fire inspection programs.

Total investments in fire departments across Perth-Wellington are as follows:

 Fire Department 

New Funding 

Minto Fire Department 

$6,700.00 

North Perth Fire Department 

$7,800.00 

Perth East Fire Department 

$7,600.00 

St. Marys Town Fire Department 

$6,300.00 

Stratford Fire Department 

$12,300.00 

Wellington North Fire Services 

$7,500.00 

West Perth Fire Department 

$6,700.00 

Mapleton Fire Rescue 

$7,100.00 

Total Perth-Wellington Funding: 

$62,000.00 

 

Additionally the Guelph Fire Department will receive $37,100 and Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue Services will receive $11,500.
