Border Crossing Inspection leads to seizure of 62kg of Suspected Cocaine

25 year old male of Brampton remains in custody

 

The Canadian Border Services Agency and the RCMP are reported to have seized $3.5 million dollars worth of cocaine trying to cross at the Blue Water Bridge.

The seizure happened on March 31st when a commercial truck was trying to enter Canada at Point Edward and was referred to secondary inspection.

During the inspection officers allegedly found 62 kilograms of suspected cocaine and placed the driver under arrest.

The 25 year old male of Brampton has been charged with importation of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He remains in custody in Windsor and is scheduled to appear in a Sarnia Court on April 20th.
