Impaired driver arrested in Hensall

Driver was stopped in his pickup at a R.I.D.E. Checkpoint

 

A South Huron resident has been arrested and charged with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop conducted in Hensall this past weekend.

Just before 9pm last Saturday Huron County OPP officers were conducting R.I.D.E. checks in Hensall when a pickup truck entered into the checkpoint.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer immediately noted the driver had consumed some alcohol and displayed several signs of impairment.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrested and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The accused later provided 2 samples of his breath to a qualified intoxilizer and both samples were found above the legal limit.

A 58 year old male of South Huron has been charged with Impaired Operation and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 31st at  a Goderich Court.
