Development on site of former Erin PS could begin next year

Proposed unit sizes will range from 1500 to 1800 square feet

The developer working on putting residential townhomes on the former Erin Public School has updated the plan to build it in 1 phase as opposed to 2 as originally proposed.

The planning consultant for Erin, Angela Sciberras, gave the update at the April 6th Council meeting informing them that the owners Kensington Square Developments have revised their plans to eliminate the delay and the only holdup is the completion or near completion of the town’s wastewater treatment plant.

The move is thought to be done to reduce the disruption on neighbours, businesses and traffic in the village.

The proposed housing project is expected to create 70 residential units with 54 being stacked townhouses and the rest being traditional townhouses.
