There are troubling statistics coming out of one of Canada’s largest retirement and nursing home chains in terms of vaccinating staff at their facilities.
Revera Incorporated has revealed that all across the province only 45 percent of their staff were vaccinated during the first phase of vaccine rollout.
Revera owns more than 100 long term and retirement residents across Ontario and has told the Provincial government in a March 29th letter that it has only improved to 50 percent as of April 1st.
In other provinces such as BC staff vaccinations in similar settings achieved 91 percent of staff who were vaccinated.
The letter was jointly written by Revera, Extendicare, Sienna Senior Living and Schlegel Villages.
They want to government to get involved and give vaccine hesitancy and access issues as possible reasons.
