There were reports out of the Ontario Government yesterday that the they are considering making remote learning a permanent part of the education system.
It is thought that parents could have the option of enrolling their children in full-time synchronous remote learning starting in September.
Students have been taught through a combination of in-person and remote learning for about a year in order to provide more space to physically distance in classrooms because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Education Minister for the Province Stephen Lecce has said that online learning is absolutely critical in ensuring students continuity of learning throughout the pandemic and in mitigating learning loss.
The Teachers Unions in the Province are slamming the report. They say it was never intended to be permanent and was intended to delivery emergency instruction during a global health crisis.
