The Huron East community and beyond was left reeling yesterday at the news that the Economic Development Officer for the community had passed away.
Jan Hawley was a cherished member of the community who both in her duties in Economic Development and beyond just was a never ending cheerleader for the area.
She had just been honoured with the Economic Development Council of Ontario’s Award for Rural Excellence again for the 2nd straight year and was also runner up for the Innovation in Community Resiliency Award.
She was in her 69th year.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date at the Seaforth Golf Course.
